Good news is that Hari & dad will be joining in the runs on the Devon/Dartmoor meet.

I saw them both at Squerryes Court on 30th September. Mike is doing extremely well, considering (maybe too much) he is driving and working on Hari's car , which developed a coolant leak. i have emailed her recently and not got a reply yet, so she must be busy.

Dad is doing very well. He is home and starting to do bits and bobs in the house and garden that need doing (we had got so far before his fall and his house is still a building site!) and also on his MGB GT, which needs a lot of bodywork doing, along with some other bits..
He is still in a lot of pain; can't move his head more than 90 deg in either direction and has difficulty lifting, but as with any physical damage, this takes time and becomes easier as he gets used to it. He is slowly building up his muscles and physical strength, as he lost a huge amount of muscle mass being restricted by his brace and mostly confined to bed, getting no exercise.
As Bryan mentioned, he was in Brighton the weekend of the MGCC Autumn Gathering at Squerryes Court. We both attended in our separate MGFs - the first time that we have done this! - so it was rather exciting for both of us. Here are a few piccys from Damien and Martin:
Squerryes Court - beautiful 17th Century Manor house, home to the Warde family since 1731
A great turnout! :broon:
.
Some of naughty Penelope, who has been in my BAD books this last month - first engine dropped at mounting bolts failed on offside, then clutch slave went as I was reversing out of Waitrose car park, then had to replace alternator, then at Squerryes Court we noticed I'd lost all my coolant, having been filled that morning and driven all of 30 miles, and later discovered that part of the flexible rubber tubing was split, so I was loaded up with lots of water (thanks Damien!) and was ushered home sandwiched between Dad and Karl "just in case"
Flying Ashtray
Still complete with splitter from Penelope Mk1!
Leemans (Lee)
Red 19 - Neil Surrey Labs
Karl
Damien
The Gruesome Twosome
Snapper - Marty
A few group shots
Some other great cars
Lovely MGA bottoms
An innovative way to prop bonnet open!
The love-it-or-hate-it MG6
I still want one of these!
Lee and Neil in the Pride of Ownership
Banana Squad!
Showing the multiple uses of the boot :yesnod:
Damien, always the centre of attention when trying to find the right camera angle!
Me seeing what all the fuss is about!
Damien's MG teddy
As Bryan so aptly put it - Penelope's leaky bottom, making us the last people to leave!
I haven't been as active on the forum as I usually am, as I have a huge amount of work on at University. I am now in 3rd year studying Mechanical Engineering, so the pressure is really on. That doesn't mean I won't be attending runs though! Dad and I will be partly joining the Devon & Dartmoor run this weekend, as Dad lives close to the area. And I am looking forward to the 'Winter Warmer' on Sunday 11th November. I hope to see some of you there!
