Last years accident.

Not sure I posted this up last year as I was holding off until the £1500 bill was settled in full by the companies insurance.

Well, it has been.

So here is the vid. It was about 6.30am and I was going to work in the LE500

It's a good thing you were going as fast as you were Clive, .... less chance of random items landing in your cockpit ... :dry:

At lower speeds shedding loads like that are much more likely to land in your lap, .. rather than clear your windscreen and remove your windstop on the way over the boot .... :pinch:



Did the lorry driver ever get prosecuted for the dangerous load ? ... or did you not inform the police ? :shrug:

wow that was close. Two weeks ago and further along the same road in the snow Anne my wife was involved in a 5 car collision. The incident actually made Radio 2 when she managed to close the A189 in the morning rush hour. So the Corsa is in the paint shop being repaired and the insurance company supplied an underpowered tin Chevy. I have had to chase and make the phone calls between insurance broker,, insurance company the car recovery firm, the repairers and the rental company. I have spent hours on the phone on hold and have been passed back and forth. Each saying it is the other companies responsibility. What a farce.

Lets see what happens when the dust settles. Letters from other car owners insurance companies are coming in thick and fast and all blaming each other. Bit of a nightmare at the moment. Front bumper/back bumper replaced and a touch up with a bit of paint. Repair shop have said should take 10 days.!!! can build several 100 corsas in that time. Maybe.

Oh yes Anne is fine, she was back to work the next day.

Anne remembers that closure.

I didn't report it to the police to be honest, I didn't even think about it.

My insurance were brilliant. The only complaint I have with them is they are too hands on and tend not to keep you in the loop. I even received my excess back in the form of a cheque from them with no covering letter etc.

I phoned them up halfway through and all they said was that they will contact me if they need to. Guess they didn't need to. :broon:

:omg: Christ that's a real 'what if' moment.

I wonder if it caused any problems for others driving along the same stretch before it was cleared off the road. And I bet the lorry driver didn't even know anything about it.

Oh he knew, after I forced him to stop. His words were, "we'll there goes my bonus" :rant:
