Afternoon fellow MGers

Clean bum

Advice please on buying a new exhaust. I would like to replace my existing exhaust for s/s and i like the look of the MGOC sports exhaust for £300. But not sure if it will be too loud.

Do they come with a volume control :slapme: or can I get my money back if i want to swop :nonod: I will get the local MG garage to fit.

I have got used to Clive passing my house at 6.30 am on his way to work. i also have very good neigbours which i would like to keep.

So am unsure what i want, but i do know I want better than I have at the moment. ( standard exhaust )

I am down in Bedworth next weekend to see my daughter and am planning to pop into Stoneleigh on the Sunday. So I can check out exhausts when I am there. Also does the exhaust come with a Cat.

Next project would be an induction kit, but that is for another topic.

I have the MGOC supersports exhaust on my 160 - it's not too loud or offensive. I doubt you can get your money back, so it's probably worth listening to some at Stoneleigh.

I have a blue flame on my MGF VVC and it sounds fantastic it not over the top loud but when you put your foot down it sounds rich and sporty they have a few videos on you tube it also comes with really nice tail pipes and if you put a K&N in the mix it will sound even better its the one to go for if you dont want a over the top boy racer sound

I've got the MGOC Supersport on a standard 1.8i F and I think it makes a great sound but it shouldn't wake the neighbours unless you floor the throttle (which you are not going to do on a cold engine I trust). What I have noticed was a bit of a drone - a sort of resonance - with the hard top fitted at 70 or so....I've solved this by selling the hard top!

I can't compare it with other systems because I live in a vacuum up here but I like it!

Thanks for your quick replies and advice guys.I will ask loads of questions at Stoneleigh. MGOC sports is looking favourite.

Does that mean the exhaust will fit to the existing cat? :-?

Yes, so long as you get the correct exhaust for your model it will marry up to the cat. You'll need new bolts and extended nuts and a new gasket.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
