Guess we have all done it, remember arriving at the port in Holland for a ferry back only to find an empty dock where the ferry should have been, we were (fortunately) a day early, but SWMBO did give me some grief, still does 15 years on :oops:

Many many years ago a group of us booked a limo to take us to the airport (it was only about a rennet dearer each than the Gatwick flyer - awful shared mini-bus)
The driver arrived, worried the house was in darkness so phoned me so we wouldn't be late. I was very grateful for his concern but told him it was June 30th and we didn't fly until July 30th.. It was about 2am. When he turned up a month later, he said he was getting constant jokes made, and he'd never live it down.

Yes it was a near miss only because i went on line to buy the ticket did i notice the date
