Posted 11 years 7 months ago #1129362. If you live in Didcot or Poundbury, it is likely that your gas came from your sewage. These towns have a biomethane plant attached to the sewage works. It is hoped that around 40% of the gas used in this country can be produced in this way in the future.
EDIT: My wife is SSE (but never did door to door or cold call telesales).

Just yanking your chain Adam.
EDF did what the Govt should have done to the CEGB: privatised enough to allow market operation and acquisition while retaining the bulk in public ownership. I do some consulting at EDF Cottam and West Burton now and then.
