Hello my car has developed a slight rattle that I have found to be the cat heat sheild now this looks to be just a outer skin so does it need welding back or can I just pull it off? the outer skin looks like this

I had the same , it had split at the join , I found the metal is really soft though and could be folded over the lip with a pair of pliers , goodbye rattle
