What do you think of today's tyre explosive performance?
The FIA wanted a tyre that degraded: be careful what you wish for.....

BRILLIANT drives by Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton though

If they were the same, must be down to the tyres.
If they were altered, the track designer needs shooting.
Some really fast speeds, when some of the tyres let go,
Just shows how good their reactions are, plus the ones driving up behind being showed with debris.

The FIA are of the same opinion I feel.
Previously they delaminated to the intact core: the structure remained intact. Now, they go boom! The whole effin lot.

Like they did last year and the year beforemarmite2 wrote: It would appear that the drivers are going too far over the white line onto areas that were never designed for running over.

He also showed where the tyres were being cut by the sharp inside edge of the saw tooth kerbs.
To me the question is - Should we expect the tyres to cope with that edge. After all it was an inch high at most. I would certainly expect my road tyres to cope with that minor imperfection, are F1 tyres much more delicate?
So is it the tyres or the kerbs that are the problem?
I would suggest the tyres. I don't think those kerbs have been changed, nor are they significantly different from kerbs at every other track.

Now Rumour Central says that a German GP boycott by some teams may be on the cards.
Great tactics: punish the worldwide fanbase as at Indy: way to go. Not.
