Has anyone got any on the go?

Currently I am converting our 2 sheds to one large shed.

Mrs TC had a 6x4 cheapy from wickes that was on it's last legs, I had a better 8x8 but the roof was shot, we had been toying with the idea of getting a large replacment but the costs were silly so when we had a clear out at work I was dead chuffed to get 20 or so packs of T&G floor boards that had sat outside for a while so were discoloured and damp but not rotton, I also got some lengths of 3x2 timber and some fence posts.

I made a side and a rear panel that was half the width of the total gap. I used the fence posts as floor joists and then made some shelfs which brace it all togeather and acheved this.

I then removed the side from my shed and turned it through 90' to add to the front. I had to buy some roof panels as T&G would have been too heavy and still need a water proof cover. I still have some finishing to do but this is how she stands today.

Cost so far has been Nil for the wood, not sure for the screws, £75 for the roof panels and £25 for the guttering at the rear as the chap at the back didn't want the rain water falling near his fence.

I'd love to extend my shed, but I know that the moment I do, the junk would multiply under the cover of darkness, to fill it before I ever got any use out of it! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

But, your shed/s look great. :yesnod:

Ain't it funny, how time slips away...?

Cheers.

The original dealwas that I was to tidy up all my stuff before starting but the wood was a now or never deal. I have however managed to dump a lot of stuff, some going back to my first car I scrapped in August 1988!

I'm doing a load of DIY in the house at the moment (due to start on laying a wooden floor in the lounge next week) but my winter project is going to be clearing out our double garage and setting up a workshop so that I can work on the F under cover and without having to keep going back and fore to the garage for tools.

Current estimates are two skips worth of crap to clear out!

That looks to be a high standard, I've done the kitchen here twice using an ex demo kitchen and then my sisters old kitchen but when VAT was low we invested in getting it fitted, not as easy as it sounds as I still had to re do all the electrics and floor.

We've replaced most of the floors here with new boards, mostly using boards from wickes that come pre-finished which saves a lot of work, just got to do our room, probably this winter.

Just finished shifting 8 tons of hardcore and bricks by hand, to make space for a 6ft high x 50m long railway sleeper wall, 25ft x 15ft timber deck and my new 10ft x 8ft office.

Regards

Chris

I have a mahoosive DIY project on the go with my Aspberger Syndrome sons flat in Bristol.
The wallpaper offended him so he tried to peel it off. Deep joy.

When I finish I'll put some before and after pics up if this thread is still running in 2015....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Painted the back part of the house about 6 months ago, it was tedious as the old paint had to be burnt and scraped off then I replaced gutter etc. Next job is the front and 2 sides of the house, not sure what I will do with some rotted corners. All the guttering will have to be replaced.

What is that guttering made of? Looks like metal so you should be able to clean it up and seal it before repainting.

However I would suspect the best thing to do with the timber is remove and replace.
Modern treated exterior timber should last more than 20 years, even standing in water and unpainted.
