We're on hol for a couple weeks from work, have been for a week now. The plan was to have a cheap and cheerful week away in t'sun but events: helping kids with decorating projects ( which means me doing the work as they watch) bending the MG etc have conspired against that.

So the cunning plan is to spend just a few days in Border Patrol land next then call in on my bro in Cleveland on t'way 'ome. Looking for a hotel round Bamburgh/Alnwick area and do the normal stuff. Sue wants to see Lindisfarne and I want to revisit Beamish. Plus some coastal exploring.

I explored the area moons ago on a lads hol: Sue has never been.
The MG will be in the body shop next week having her wounds licked so the weather is bound to be spectacular for you locals as top down motoring in the Jag would involve an angle grinder.

Any suggestions of good places to visit appreciated. :broon:

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

You say that like it would be a bad thing!

It would! The old gal sailed through the MOT today once again. 10 years and 72k. She gets well looked after but not so intensely as the MG: which is 06 and 27k and makes me act like an expectant father at MOT time. Though she us a year round car and daily drive.

All the Jag needed was a pair of front discs and new pads. All I've replaced in 8 years is the battery (last year) and normal service items. Still the original exhaust: now watch it roll into the hard shoulder going to Bristol tomorrow!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

If you like kippers go to Robson's in Craster (but consider how you will get them home without making the Jag smell). Dunstanburgh castle ruins are then an easy visit. Alnmouth is great for some fresh sea air, nice beaches and good pubs.

Watch the tides on the Lindisfarne visit - don't make a Sub of the Jag!
