Other day, going down a steepish hill, saw a 4 x 4 at the bottom waiting to turn right.

Luckily I left a fair bit of space behind him, noticed he had rear damage halfway up his rear doors.

He then started backing up the hill, so i got straight onto the horn and left it on. Still carried on backing up, but the horn had attracted the attention of a guy walking his dog, plus another van was now coming down the hill behind me.

The 4 x 4, stopped and drove off, I didnt get his number, and before it happened I always used to say..... get the number. The shock of it, plus being glad that the idiot stopped just before he hit the front of the TF, stops the brain working.

Anyway I know have a in car camera, only £15.00 off ebay, works OK and the quality is amazing for such a cheap price.

So just a word of warning, these scammers dont have to slam on their brakes, they can hit reverse and argue they you hit them. Specially if you are alone in the car at the time.

My in car cameras have proved helpful in the past. Especially this one that caused damage to the LE500 which came to £1500.

Fraid not, didnt have a pen or paper, my phone was filled up with pics, and I hadnt cleared them out like I was going to do.

I turned the same way and followed behind it for a bit as well. Knew I should get the number and report the actions to the police. But then its their word against yours and he could say, I made a mistake and got reverse and panicked.

Just glad it didnt hit me. My ones painted in Typhoon, flip paint, that would be expensive and difficult to paint and match up.

It does give you a bit of a shock.

If the question was aimed at me, I pulled him over and took his details. A witness pulled over too.

Clive, A similar accident happened near here. A fellow was driving down the street half a mile from his house, and a big rock fell out of a dump truck, went through the windscreen of his Volvo and killed him dead. Turned out he was the husband of one of my clients. His wife and kids were shattered.
