Removing putty is a dangerous business
What a thrill, 7am this morning an O'brian Glass contractor turned up, an hour early to remove the putty from broken windows prior to the glazier arriving at 10am.
Some bright spark at O'brians suspected ACM's because they were steel window frames. Apparently me explaining to them that the putty had been replaced along with the windows previously was too much for them to grasp.
I can only assume that ACM's leach from any pre 2004 house into anything that is post 2004. Its a dangerous business removing putty 7 year old apparently. You can't underestimate the dickhead factor.

Latest comment from the orange man, "this putty is too soft to be the old asbestos putty"
Well you don't say, that's a surprise. :slapme:

You got off lightly mate.
In the UK, if asbestos is suspected then a sub- atmospheric aspirated polythene tent would need to be erected inside and out prior to removal. Meaning you would have had to evacuate your home for the duration.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
