to a sorted F, will never disappear? :pop:

so i 'inherited' the little mkII VVC, it having been sat for 18 months following a refusal to start one day. following advice from 'professionals' (i use the term loosely, it being the [strike]monkey[/strike] motor trade) it sat waiting work quoted more costly than the value of the car.

i felt sorry for it. it was trailered here, and tlc commenced.

new battery for kick off, plug into the filtered mains leccy, and end up having to remap/clone engine ecu to change it from a sculpture to a car. the it's alive! moment was just epic  (that took several hours to trace and resolve, so happy days)

on with service inc cambelt, waterpump, oil, fluids, filters, plugs, plug leads,
rad fan was cutting in and out, no leaks.. carry on!

resonator removal and shorter flexi intake pipe to nearside, :yesnod:
new dampers, fresh windscreen wipers, handbrake adjust for MOT :yesnod: :woowoo:
(amazing considering the time sat outdoors)

boot hinges (springs were broken),
door mirror seals (i must write a how-to on that, it wasn't the standard cheater leak entry point),
rear light seals, (yadda yadda)
heater fan resistor fixed (rezpax stainless),
air scarf, (fankoo L Pingo)
factory head unit mp3 input courtesy of BMW,
oil and clock gauge swap, (replace bulbs too)
a set of Toyo Proxes,
fitted mains battery monitor / trickle charger,
fitted hard top and developed unique boot rack mod to take toys to the beach, :woohoo:

the list will continue.
car still worth less than a night out lol

Yes, we have all been there but don't you love the character of the MG? makes it all worth while! I have 2 other cars but always drive the MG if I can, its so much more that just rolling around in a Eurobox.

BTW how did you get all the resonator box out? with a dremel?

the air routing, yes, just remove/destroy anything not required any more. :yesnod:
no reason the resonator couldn't stay though. :pop:

the car has lovely character, else i wouldn't have given it the chance. :woo2:
being 'fortunate' enough to drive just about any car on the road, it's the character cars that give that little smile to you. they can be pennies to buy, just the same.
