battery life

Hi all
I have just been looking at my little green book which I put dates in when I put some thing on my car and my Halfords battery was put on in 20/12/08 so nearly 5 yrs old. I wounder how long it will last, another 5yrs?

Haven't a clue but you've just reminded me to connect ours to the CTEK conditioner.......thanks..

Ive known them last about 6 years without conditioning, cant say whether conditioning will help only to keep float voltage, but usual failure is plates warp with age so sudden unexpected failure is to be expected especially in the colder weather.

I reckon about 5 years then sudden failure, happened to the Clio, BMW and MGF, the only exception was the Merc, that lasted 8 years then went spectacularly in minus 20 (couldn't even light the courtesy light). I think they have become a disposable item to be factored in every 5 years, if you get longer its a bonus.
