Leaks and more leaks..... was created by a Guest

Well carpet out and found the causes of the multiple leaks. Passenger foot-well which I'm guessing is a leak from the lhd column cover. The drivers foot-well is also leaking but not sure where from.

Thirdly and probably most difficult to solve is the leak from the corner areas of the roof. There is a trail of water either side when I attack it with a hosepipe. It seems to be coming in around the velcro areas but the velcro appears to be taught.

Here are a few pictures of the sodden carpets and soundproofing. Was a bit like the Titanic (after it sank) on the surface! :bang:

Mmm looks like that's been leaking for some time.
Passengers footwell most likely the heater intake, either remove and reseal or fit a TF snorkeling style.
The rear window could be break down of the material once you get wicking like this it could be replacement time. Dry it thoroughly and clean reproof but be prepared to swap out.
... Or just fit the hardtop and take the soft hood indoors for tlc

Footwell leaks are most likely the heater air intake as Really? says. Water tends to pool around the heater air intake under the bonnet which is mounted on a flat surface and if the seal is worn or not tightly fastened water drips in to the cabin. Under the bonnet you need to remove the black plastic cover to see the intake which is a plastic box on the passenger's side. The original box is bolted down in 4 places and is not easy to remove non-destructively - take a look at:

Regarding the hood leak - this may sound a daft question but was the rear window properly zipped in?

Oh dear my shopping list is growing. Wifey will be pleased! :coat:

The zip is fulled closed and it appears to be seeping in down the corners on both sides where the velcro joins together. Seeing as I have no intention of having the rear plastic window open-is there anything that can be done to permanently seal these areas? For example silicone or tiger seal on the velcro parts?

Thanks for advice on air intake-snorkel shopping it is!

Regarding the leak from the drivers footwell-is this just leaking from the same area through the air intake?

Did you ever solve the leak through the zip area?
