Moselle Trip 2014
I am planning a holiday trip to the beautiful Moselle valley,Germany, in late May or early June 2014.
Accommodation will obviously depend on no's, but will have enough facilities for a comfortable stay & be close to the river.
Example;
http://www.homeaway.co.uk/p775485
The region is a days drive from Calais, but an early ferry will be needed.
Duration 6 days & will cost about £110/person plus food & travel costs.
There will be runs out, boat trip, vineyard tour etc.
Anybody interested?

Been there twice now...
And it's highly recommended. :yesnod:
I think it's great that you're organising this event Forrester. Nice one. :broon:
Cochem's a beautiful place with lots to see and plenty of pubs and restaurants hidden away in it's many alleyways. The ride up on the cable car is cheap as chips and there's a bar at the top with spectacular views. Superb. :yesnod:

May not be Cochem where we stop. Agreed it is a super town & there are many others along the valley, which is only 80 miles long from Trier to Koblenz.
Some "interesting " drives around the hills surrounding the river & the Rhine valley is close by.
More than enough to keep us busy :yesnod:
Shame we won't be there at harvest time, but still plenty of opportunities for sampling last years vintage :broon:

Yes David - a lot of it :broon:
I was suprised myself when visiting a vineyard on the Rhine this year, to learn that they produce more red than white & good quality.

I have found a super large house to rent, which is divided into separate apartments with own facilities, but also has communal eating & lounging areas. :broon:
