Electrical issues
Hi. Could somebody advise please as we have an MG TF (51) and since the battery was replaced the footwell lights don't work all the time and the lights-on alarm has stopped working. The old battery expired and when the new battery was installed the alarm started going off so it was still armed.
Many thanks
Derek

Hi Derek,
As for the alarm side of things first things first, try re-syncing the fob to the system. have a look at this page which will help you out.... http://www.the-t-bar.com/forum/9-mgftf-pitstop/36573-mg-key-fob-battery-change-a-resync-video and if I'm right in my thinking the other faults may go away as well ;)

Happy to help (well I hope I have!)
That's why I prefer this site to some of the others as although the flow may be a little slower sometimes at least the quality is much better :drive:

Hi Dave,
Sadly, although I tried the resync 3 or 4 times it had no effect.
What I did find though was through accident I had the drivers door open and pressed the lock button down which popped back up on its own, & then the passenger side footwell lamp came on! (Not the drivers side footwell lamp though)
The courtesy lights under the mirror still function.
This is so odd & very annoying, as everything worked before the battery died.
