Rear Bumper
So now all my bodykit is painted, i thought i would give the guys at the bodyshop a hand to remove the old rear bumper and fit the new one. Fully equipped with CJJ's excellent how to guide, I was feeling quite confident that this was a job i could do. Guess i should have known better. The original plan was to jack the car up on axel stands, and take the rear wheels off to get better access. With everything in place i went to get my trusty wheel brace from the front of the car. Only to find that i didn't have one, no problem i thought, i'll just borrow one. Except the one i borrowed didn't fit. So forget ease of access i'll just remove it on the ground. Everything going great until it came to removing the 2 Torx bolts just above the exhaust. They just wouldn't move, so time to call in the experts to have a look and try. After 40 mins of trying various things we were only left with 1 solution. Cutting the plastic around the bolt :pinch:
so the bumper comes off and this is what we find
with the metal mounts sheared and no hope of rescuing anything
2 new mounts required from rimmer bros to add to the list of things to get
however we pressed ahead, the bumper we are fitting at the moment is only temporary until Ariel has finished making my kit, and there are still 7 other bolts to hold it on
With the light fading and having spent 4 hours to get that far i called it a day.

The torx bit shearing the bracket is common practice unfortunately the metal L shape bracket is to weak.
Easy for me to comment with hindsight just a little friendly advice,i broke my first bumper mounts way back.
However i find unbolting the four 13mm nuts in boot releases the brackets with bumper and i can get over the top of thread and spray with lubrication sometimes i heat the thread slightly up being careful not to melt the black plastic.
It is not always succesful depends on the level of corrosion.

Same as the comments above + put lots of copperslip on the bolt when putting it back
