Hi I mine still looking round on Auto trader for a car, but not many mention cam belt or head gasket change, could anyone give me a roundabout pice for cambelt, head gasket, sevice and disc and pads. I think I might have to get them done as may be peace of mind. Many Thanks Andyp25

I had cambelt, HG, stainless pipes, waterpump & service for about £430 I think. Discs & Pads local garage can do the four for about £150 as long as their not AP's on the front.
Lots of help available from the mobile mechanics.
MG Rover Solutions Russell Walsh is a good person to start talking to he's worked on many members car on here and is honest and genuine.

Thanks for that, it's cheaper than I thought! I thought with I being in a awkward place the price to do stuff would be dear.

I think too much is made of the head gasket replacement. It's almost as if the Rover 4 cylinder K series is the only engine to ever have a gasket fail ..................................................................................................... which is clearly not the real fact.
Had to have the head gasket replaced on the 97 MPi "Blue 33" as it went. Dave & Kayleigh of Rover Mobile Mechanics whom are also well known of the various MG/Rover forums and have a very good reputation came and did it for us. Or rather Steve who works for them did the job. Head gasket, inlet manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, cam belt, water pump (The on her was leaking it seems) also had a new cam belt tensioner and cam cover gasket and with travel is came to £355.
