Been trolling the bay again and bought some nice MGF goodies which arrived today:-

Pair of Silver Roll Hoops
Trophy front spoiler with working fogs in HAM
Pair of blade side scoops
Set of factory mud flaps
Boot popper

The drawback, if one can consider it such is that there are here:-

Still attached to this VVC mk1

Newish mild steel exhaust which has a surprising "sporty" note to it

factory front mudflaps

Black side scoops

Resonator box has been removed and this fitted..It has two hoses feeding it cooler air

Silver trim but some is damaged. Stereo has been totally removed speakers and all.

Got 4 good condition tyres but all four are different makes it seems  Oh well.. The car runs but has a coolant leak the vendor said it was HGF and the dipstick has some mayo on it but the oil cap in the cam cover is clear as is the oil itself. Have seen water dripping underneath and I believe it may be this hose:-

Note the pick crusting around it and down the plastic bit. The radiator gets hot and the fan kicks in then cuts off after a while there was sir in the system as well. Bled it twice already.

The drivers seat is ripped and taped up and the gear leaver has a serious case of sloppyness  the passenger foot well is wet  fan speed 1&2 inoperative  passenger door lock does not seem to work of the one fob but unlocks with the key. The N/S/R caliper looks fairly new still being silver it also has stainless braided brake hoses front and rear

So what do you think?

Body works looks ok, if the HG has not blown then it looks like a worthy candidate to tinker with to full health :yesnod:

relatively simple faults to rectify then you will be summer cruising :drive:

With refurbished sub frame and AP set up going on.

The new acquisition was an e-bay low bid ......................... I did not expect to win it so now have another to sort out. Oh the front bumper is split high on the drivers side just below the bonnet level. So need to see if we can fix or it's see about another and transfer the spoiler.

That photo is an old one now but yes she really does need a clean right now after all that muck that came down with the rain and dew. Spent a few hours cleaning and checking things on the green machine this afternoon. After pressure washing it and the engine the coolant temp gauge stopped working. Investigation found that the wire had been pulled out of the plug at some point in time and taped back in. The water jet dislodged it. So will now have to get a plug with a length of wire from a breakers so I can reconnect it using proper connectors. Until this is fixed I cannot really check the cooling system fully as cannot tell when it's starting to get too hot and waiting until it's possibly boiling does not seem like a good idea to me.

So after the pressure wash I mixed up some G3 Pre wash and used this to wash the car and the body work is actually in quite good condition. yes it has some rust spots that will need dealing with around the rear wheel arches, front wheel arch and rear bottom sill. usual places. So after the wash and dry off I used some Autoglym paint restorer cream to help remove some swirls and lighter scratches:-

If I can do of get the paint clayed I think it will come up quite well even though the bonnet has numerous stone chips.

We have a few small dings like the one in the O/S/R quarter but most serious is this crack in the front bumper:-

and this old sill repair:-

The worse condition wheel is this one:-

and this poor aerosol can sparying on the drivers door:-

which does not match. Nor does the front bumper which is a different shade but apart from that she looks presentable.

I also used the new grease gun pump to raise the suspension as it was down a bit at just shy of 350 mm. The hood has been painted with some awful stuff so it looks like a tarp. That will have to be cleaned at a later date.
