So with my upcoming trip to Spain go and collect my body kit from Ariel, so far this week i have:

booked the ferry: dover > calais return, leaving at 02.30 am on the 14th June coming back at 20.00 on the 16th June

Bought: 1 x 52mm throttle body, 4 NGK Platinum spark plugs, 1 x timing/cam belt kit and water pump, 1 x alternator belt, 1 x fuel filter, 1 x oil filter and sump plug washer, 5 litres of castrol magnatec.

called Dave (Moblie MG mechanic guy) to fit/change all the above and code read/fault find the fault light i have, provisionally booked for the 17th June

Also bought a set of vent scoops from Wayne Joubert in South Africa, as per pic below:

some evo wing mirrors and the universal fitting plates + 2 door cheetah's i intend to somehow bodge to get everything to fit:

and whilst i am bodging things, i thought i may as well have a go at seeing what i could do with this from a 2001 renault meganne.

and last but not least i also succumbed to buying a new camera to take pics of it all. Should keep the postman busy at least :)

The last, from the Megane, is that like a fibreglass tonneau?

If it is Ariel makes one that comes in half and fits in the boot of the F/TF!

its a factory standard part, no idea what its made of until it arrives. Original listing doesn't say:

2001 Renault Megane Cabriolet 1.6 16v BREAKING; Roof hood flap cover - NV676
Completed

worst that can happen is i'll be down £30, won't know until it arrives, and i see what i can do with it

Did you ever shift the side skirts by the way?

That is a tight schedule. where in Spain are you going?
Do you have a co-driver?
What size van are you driving?
Is there any flexibility in the return ferry booking?

If you do catch the 8pm ferry you wont be back to Manchester until close to day break on the 17th, is it worth booking the mechanic for the 18th?

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

MG - the friendly marque.

There are 3 of us going, and we are looking at 10 hour + days driving once we get to Calais. Calais to Biarritz is around 1060km, Ferry gets in at 05.00, that gives us all day to drive down there. Overnight in Biarritz, then on the 15th, Biarritz to Ariel and back. Ariel lives north of Madrid and its 520km from Biarritz to his place, so 1040 km round trip. Overnight on the 15th in Biarritz again, then we have all day on the 16th to drive back to Calais to get the 20.00 ferry. 17th will be a long day, but after all this time waiting i just want to get it all done. The sooner the mechanical side is done, then the sooner the bodyshop can get on with the fitting and the respray.
