Can you wheel spin an MGF?
Simple question... In the dry, with good tyres on a decent road, can you wheel spin your MGF from a standing start? In my car it seems almost impossible unless it's wet or loose. I'm not saying I particularly want to, I'm just surprised.

Shows you've got good power to grip ratio, which is what you want. No good wasting power on spinning the wheels :drive:
The only time mine have spun is on loose surface material, other than that it's got good traction all round.
At the end of the day on a public road you want good traction and no spin, spin is for the drifting boys or for warming your tyres up for drag racing.

Why would you want to?
Things like that is best left to the yoofs in their saxo's and corsa's.
I like it when mine digs in then accelerates with the song of the vvc power band. :drive:
Makes me smile every time., except when the north wales unmarked police bike caught up with me :slapme:

Yes you can, but you have to work at it. However why would you want to? On the road it's dumb, on the track it's slow (Not as slow as hitting the Armco like I did though) and it trashes your good tyres.
Oh god, I'm turning into my father........ :omg:

I don't want to, but I was quite surprised how hard it is. BTW, I dont try that kind of thing on the road. When getting fast start on a rally section you notice it. In my car, it seems that if you really give it beans and drop the clutch, the clutch is more likely to slip than the tyres.

Strange, Andy the tyre man telling us not to spin the wheels,
surely it is good for business?
I do, only on bloody diesel spills..

Oh yes it's good for business but it's also STUPID!
How many times have you been in town and someone wheelspins within earshot?
Bet your first reaction would be "idiot!"
