Why an MGF or TF?
Never really liked the f , to me looked to soft and girly but when the tf came out with its more aggressive looks I was hooked ... almost bought one severl times over a 7 year period but could never bring myself due to worries with head gaskets and build quality but last year I desided sod it ,always wanted one so I bought one.
and yes it hasnt been smooth sailing even from the first day of ownership up until even now .. the place I bought it from ... apparently a mgf / tf specialist turned out to be a del boy outfit ...that I over paid for my car thinking it would be spot on and its been nuthing but trouble but im persistant and I do love the car and I think im just goin to persist with it because to be honest theres nuthin else id rather drive.

Yes indeed ... never again and will never advise anyone to ever buy from them I paid a premium for mine because it was low owners . Ultra low millage and full history with the cam belt . Water pump and uprated head gasket . It was in good nick aswell but 12 months later its got rust everywhere and everything is failing on it ... did they just bodge it up cheaply to make it look good just to sell ?? Or has it seriously deteriorated this quick naturally?? Or is it a bit of normal deterioration mixed with there cheap bodges failing?? Who knows is the answer.
dont forget you get a 3 month parts and labour warranty ... where they take your faulty parts off and replace them wirh parts off cars in the show room .. and 4 hours of trying to fix conections when I told them it was a bcu fault when I got there and then try and finish and lock up at dinner time and kick me out with a broken car still after id drove 100 miles to he told to come back tomorrow .. oh god I could go on and on and on

Seriously though, I was sick of competent mile munchers and family 5 door euroboxes.
I wanted something different,
That's why I got mine, and the fact that I really couldn't list anything other than SKY TV or WORK as my hobby. Now I have Tif and a ROVER 827 to keep me away from SKY
All work and no play just makes me grumpy

Well I bought my first after following a resurection thread over on .org on a Green MGF Mpi and thought "that looks good" so started looking at prices. Before this the only contact with MGF's was recoving one after an accident many years ago as a recovery driver.
As many will know I am rather taken with them now  so much so I tend to use them rather than the Rovers unless am carrying dogs or people or something that won't fit in them of course. Of course the matter that the F's also use less fuel than either of my Rovers also helps my decision .
Before the F's my only other sportscar was over 3 decades ago and that was a 64 Mk2 Triumph Spitfire which I loved.

My first car was an MGB and I loved it. Over the following decade and a half I had several more MGs; MGA, Twin Cam, MGB, BGT, ZB.
When kids came along the MGs had to go in favour of boring sedans and minivans.
When the kids were grown and midlife crisis hit I bought a 1955 MG-ZA and modded the daylights out of it until I got bored.
Then came 2010 when the MGF became eligible for import into Canada. I brought my first F in from the UK, then when a better
car turned up, this time from Japan I upgraded.
It's definately the best MG I have owned and I am glad I went to the trouble to get them both. :woo2:
