passenger door lock

Afternoon gentlemen

SWMBO has just told.me the passenger door won't open from the outside :rant: instead the handle just 'clunks'.
It does open from the inside though. Also the interior lights don't come on when the passenger door is opened so I'm guessing a new lock/mechanism may be in order
I've had a look at the 'dead locked ' how to. Good stuff there

If the lock shut as normal and locks without the 'machine gun' sound then it is possible it is just the metal arm from the outside handle has come loose. They just clip on with plastic clips so best to check that first before buying a lock.

So I took the door card off and looked at the handle.

It seems as if the bar on the inside of the handle has worked loose so that the vertical linkage is not moving up and down thus meaning the door won't open from the inside.
When I get time I will remove the handle and have a proper look
