Who got the highest mileage f or tf ?

Just a matter of interest really.......how many miles do k series manage mine done 41000.......how about yours :bust:

I think we've done this before......my F has done 97 000 miles and is running very sweetly. Head gasket was done around 77 000 miles and I've just had the cambelt etc done so good I hope for another 5 years or so. The OE backbox lasted to about 88 000 miles. It's got new brake disks, one newish caliper, one newish lower wishbone and a few newish joints so I think as long as the sub frames are OK and the sills are sound provided you keep your maintenance up to date they should go on and on with the odd new or nearly new (and cheap) part.

yes wondered if this has been done before (thought that was who had the oldest f or tf last time ) ,but what the ek.......its talk about mgs or look at them on ebay for me....thats good mileage.........know a few folks with vws that havent reached that without major probs.........yes mine seams to be in fine fettle.But have noticed the rad has bowed at bottom,has if it needed a extra support in the middle

David A's MGF must be over 100,000 by now? I have heard of many properly maintained F's reaching 120 to 150 k

When the K series engine was first designed the expected total life was 150,000 miles, then scrap!!!

mgtfbluestreak, keep an eye on your radiator, they are known to collapse and yours should not have a bowed bottom!!!!!!

yes i was lucky to spot it has inspection through orifaces gave the impression it was like new.But after bumper was removed to fit some after market grill mesh......it appears to of weakend at the bottom ...........a perfect bow and the cooling
foil looking poor.............took it off road now for winter...............next project being to buy a new rad :whistle: ........which is the recommended rad to fit? seen some on ebay,but how good are they?

We've just clocked 40k on a '99 T reg.

now that sounds like somebodies pride and joy........what condition is it in.......

Oh bugger, mines clocked 129,000 better call the scrappies!

Well "Elsie" my VVC clocked over the 100,000 mile mark a while back:-

On the way into town. Today in the sunshine after washing the mud mostly off:-

"Blue 33" on the other hand has just over 73,000 on the clock. They funnily enough were registered just 10 days apart. Gave her a wash too as the pigeons had been stomping all over her bonnet with muddy boots on:-

Noticed the rear window was rather dirty so gave it a polish:-

Smooth to the touch now and one can see through it too!

Not the highest milers by a long chalk.
