Learning this is part of the fun of owning an mg! I'm only still standing at the lower side of the ladder. If I had a garage to my house I'd certainly would have a project car.

Ive still a lot to learn about mgs............but Hot wire an old mini......yes lap in valves......yes remove a half shaft.............yes..............all the others never had the chance but I can strip,diagnose failure and rebuild one of these in just under 2 weeks.......full strip down and rebuild of all componants including turbo charger and compressor.
Engine is around 12 litres............manufacturer man..............6 cylinder 24valve.....engine fitment-coach.....weight aprox 1 tonne....engine failure due to faulty exhaust gas recycling system....................................take my hat of to plezier making his own piston rings........mine just came out of a packet.
