Me, I am taking Trigger, my TE160, to the Rhineland area of Germany, accompanied by my mate [also a 78 yo pensioner 
]
Plenty of good driving opportunities in scenic countryside with Koblenz Boppard & Mainz nearby :broon:
Also food & self rental accommodation is very reasonable [I've booked a 2 bed apt. for the 1st week in Aug. for a cost of £250]
Booked on route hotel & DFDS ferry to Dunkirk - can't wait.

Hi James, might consider Lake Garda next year, but I would think it would work out quite expensive

Health issues with the inlaws mean i cant stray to far....the occasional day trip out around the peak district.....takes about half hour to get there..........but hey cant wait to pull the roof down and cruise the highways and byways.....taking some snapshots of the scenery from my tf......may stop for a pint in a quaint country pub......sample a 99 and a bag of chips.......luv it.......

Posted 8 years 8 months agoyour probably right ...i just got the pictures from the net......heres a pic i took last year at thorpe cloud.....enjoyed the country....and for the first time in years loved driving again...thanks to the mgtalkingcars wrote: That first picture looked like Cheddar Gorge, we were there for a short break before Christmas in the ZR.

Going to Rosmalen in Netherlands in a few weeks time.
600 miles there, and 600 miles back.
For the weekend
Went from Liverpool to Amsterdam, to Koblenz to Ghent last year (8 days) (great beaches around Amsterdam!)
Year before went to Freideshafen, Lake Constance (A drive around the lake into Austria, Switzerland and Germany) and back in 7 days

Looking at the pictures and reading where you all are off to has started me thinking .Can't wait to get the hardtop of, hood down and way. :drive: There are so many great places to choose from. May try Kielder, I have been before but not in the MG. :broon:
