Bet you want to test drive :drive: it as it is Blue :woohoo:

I came across these pictures of one of these cars that had been converted in Poland. They show the BLDC 70kW motor and original gearbox. Apparently the 11kWh batteries go at the front of the car and weigh less than 60kg.

Hi.
I found on line these bits of information about 'modern' Armoured Cars which may be of interest. B)

The 'Armoured' Motor Scout was designed and built by British inventor F.R. Simms in 1898. It was the first armed/armoured petrol engine-powered vehicle ever built. The vehicle was a De Dion-Bouton quadricycle with a mounted Maxim machine gun on the front bar. An iron shield in front of the car protected the driver. :omg: (what about his sides????)

The first fully armoured car was the Simms' Motor War Car, designed by F. R. Simms and built by Vickers, Sons & Maxim in 1899. The vehicle had armour 6 mm thick and was powered by a four-cylinder 3.3-litre 16 hp Cannstatt Daimler engine on a special Coventry-built Daimler chassis. It had a maximum speed of around 9 miles per hour (14 kilometres per hour). The armament, consisting of two Maxim guns apparently carried in two turrets with 360° traverse? It had a crew of four and saw service in the Boer War.

Another early armoured car was designed by the Georgian engineer Mikheil Nakashidze. His design for a machine gun, armed vehicle with 4-8mm of armour, had a combat weight of 3,000kg, and a road speed of 50km/hour. Fire power was provided by a Hotchkiss machine gun. It was accepted by the Russian War Ministry for service with the Russian Army. However, but as no Russian plant was considered capable of producing the vehicle, manufacture was subcontracted to the French company Charron, Girardot et Voigt.

But before these vehicles Leonardo da Vinci had made plans for this :-

Leonardo da Vinci's 15th century replica protected gun platform; the drawings show a conical, wooden shelter with apertures for cannons around the circumference. The machine was to be mounted on four wheels which would be turned by the crew through a system of hand cranks and cage (or "lantern") gears. Leonardo quoted "I will build armored wagons which will be safe and invulnerable to enemy attacks. There will be no obstacle which it cannot overcome." However, modern replicas have demonstrated that the human crew would have been able to move it over only short distances.

Was ths the first Dalek and like its followers not able to climb stairs. :-?
