Out and about 2

Following on from Bluestreaks thread - that guy gets everywhere, here are a few pics from last weekends jaunt around the southern counties, some great roads and a few ticks on the bucket list too.
First a run down the M6/5 to Bath, a great place to visit if you have not been before, some amazing buildings, but unless you are just driving around the city, the best parts have to be done on foot! Unfortunately you cannot get a car close to the roman baths, so a piccy of Mrs Sundance will have to do instead!

After bath it was a run down the leafy tunnel that is the A63 and over to Stonehenge in neighbouring Wiltshire....again, you cannot get a car close to the monument nowadays, so here is one of Shadow outside the visitor centre of Stonehenge..

And one of yours truly by the stones themselves.

Next it was back up the A63....Mmmm, must have to give way for MX5's here...

And back into Somerset, through Frome and down to the awesome Cheddar Gorge.
If you have never been to the gorge, put it on a list of must do items, cos its an amazing driving experience, and with the roof down, even more so!

A quick stop to take in the scenery...



Then back on the road heading to Weston Supermare and the M5 back to home...
But seeing as we were ticking off sights to see, passing Bristol gave us the chance to drive the Clifton Suspension Bridge, well worth the £1 toll!

Before hitting the M5 and heading back up to Stafforshire, a good 350 mile round run and only two MG's of note seen all weekend...a F parked up in Batheaston where we stayed overnight and another dark blue F taking it steady up the M5 between Weston Supermare and Bristol!

I do have one, courtesy of Mr Bluestreak, but still need to get a mount for it, but yes, the Cheddar Gorge would have been great on dashcam! must be a vid on you tube somewhere!

Hi me and the Mrs love Bath and the surrounding area looks like you had a good trip. Just a quick question where did you get your rear lights from they look really well on your TF would like some like it for my F

The rear lights are the 3 lamp lexus type, tinted with spray.

The Somerset and Wiltshire roads were a great drive, lots of leafy overhanging trees giving a tunnel effect and the openness of Salisbury plain gave great views.
Maybe my next run should be around the Yorkshire dales and moors, probably next year now, as autumn is fast approaching!

cheddar gorge.................mmmm i like cheddar..

:pop: made me that hungry talking about cheddar gorge....had to nip in the kitchen and get some of these.....

We had a 4 day break in Bath last November, we spent a whole day in the gorge (the museum is weird) and most of a day at the Roman Baths (one of the best museums I've ever visited).

The baths were excellent, I really enjoyed our time there. Only drove through the gorge, we didn't have time to stay and explore, but maybe next time. I thought the Stonehenge price was a bit steep but we are supporting our heritage so its no problem, but I think you can still walk to the stones without paying if you park off the site.
Just getting some ideas up for next years run outs! As previously mentioned, Yorkshire is on the cards, but I think maybe another destination may be on the planning table too!
