I tinted my standard lights first and they passed ok, not had a MOT with the 3 lens units fitted yet, but I checked with my son who is a copper and he said they don't bother with tinted rear lights as long as you still see the reflectors through the outer glass. Mine do look darker on photos.Noz1966 wrote: Thanks for the reply I presume they pass a mot and are road legal, I'm not saying you would drive illegally, just wanted to make sure before I tried to tint a set. What sort of paint did you Use?
Good thing is with tinting spray you can go as dark as you wish and if you go too far, its easily wiped off with spirit.
Can't remember which make it was, but its available on E-bay.

I tinted my standard TF rear lights and used Hycote tinting spray to good effect and its easy to do.Noz1966 wrote: Thanks for the reply I presume they pass a mot and are road legal, I'm not saying you would drive illegally, just wanted to make sure before I tried to tint a set. Sundance I live near Thirsk and we do have some great scenic/driving roads. Buttertupps pass is a great road along with the roads towards Whitby, Scarborough Robinhoods bay and the roads around Goathland plus many more.
If you do head this way give me a shout as I can't refuse a trip out that ends up with fish and chips at the end of it :broon:
Bythewaythat trip you had around cheddar gorge looked great :drive: also nice TF you have.

Thanks Steve, will probably be next year now, I seem to remember a remote road over the moors from Scarborough to Whitby, with a stop at the Falcon Inn for refreshments....will also check out the route you mention.
I do like Scarborough, Mrs Sundance has never been so might take her next summer and show her about. Thinking of the naval battle at Peasholm park and run over the humber bridge!
Will give you a shout when we are coming your way matey!
Maybe we could get a few others interested and have a proper run!

your welcome to attend our run to Inveraray 22nd July next year, if not too far for you!SundanceUK wrote:
The baths were excellent, I really enjoyed our time there. Only drove through the gorge, we didn't have time to stay and explore, but maybe next time. I thought the Stonehenge price was a bit steep but we are supporting our heritage so its no problem, but I think you can still walk to the stones without paying if you park off the site.talkingcars wrote: We had a 4 day break in Bath last November, we spent a whole day in the gorge (the museum is weird) and most of a day at the Roman Baths (one of the best museums I've ever visited).
Just getting some ideas up for next years run outs! As previously mentioned, Yorkshire is on the cards, but I think maybe another destination may be on the planning table too!

I have driven many of those roads over the years, one aunt and uncle lived in York and now in Kendal, another had a place just out side Reeth in the middle of the dales.

Starting near Merthyr & doing the reservoirs & mountain roads to the coast & back, should be a great run out.
Very friendly club & you can join runs as a guest. Log into their site for details.
