PROFITS OR NOT

This is purely a rant as I need to rant somewhere.
It really annoys me to hear on the news that retail sales for October were 4% up on last year.
My sales were 2.9% down.

What do you sell?

I own a small retail outlet selling pet foods and accessories. I bought the business 11 years ago when I retired from the Merchant Navy. It was never going to give me a living but it finances the big boy's toys ( formerly an MGB roadster, now the TF), beer and tobacco and gives me something to do. In fact I enjoy it in general. The government's figures have no relevance to my little business of course, but I still find them annoying.
