South Downs Run
I'm sure you are all aware of the South Downs Run, but if not, here is the info.
Is anyone else going?
The South Downs Run is a scenic and non-competitive drive about 80 miles along the beautiful South Downs from Chichester to Eastbourne in Sussex. All MG and Sprite owners are welcome regardless of club affiliations.
The Run continues to be very popular - over 300 cars are again expected for this year’s run so early booking is essential to ensure your place.
Entries span the MG range from the earliest to the latest models. If the Run is over subscribed we will operate a reserve list to fill any cancellations and notify you accordingly.
The run starts from the Northgate Car Park at Chichester at 0830 and closes at 1100. Entrants will be given detailed instructions for a route to follow (if they choose to) and may have their picture taken on departure for our records. They may be freely available on the web as soon as we can arrange it after the event. Some 4 hours should be allowed for the journey as you will be travelling at a leisurely pace in keeping with the traffic laws prevailing along the route.
Entrants remain mainly on or in sight of the South Downs throughout the Run. There are numerous places along the route that provide refreshments and facilities. The Western Lawns at the finish makes a superb picnic site, with the attraction of a 1940s style big band playing all afternoon. The large cafeteria adjoining the lawns is open all day. The event finishes at 5 p.m. and the Lawns are to be vacated by 6 p.m. Dogs are welcome - ‘poop &
scoop’ laws apply on the lawns at Eastbourne and bins are provided.
The entry fee of £17 covers all organising costs, magnetic rally plaque, route instructions, programmes, finishers' plaques, entertainment etc. When your entry has been accepted your cheque will be banked.
