Oil temp sender help!

over the weekend fitted 2 new lamda sensors to the MGF and a new cat and Trevor Taylor exhaust...
in doing this i noticed the reason my oil temp isnt working was that the sensor seems to have snapped clean off under the car (near the oil filter), the thread is still in place with a little oil leaking out but the sensor its self, and associated clips/plugs are missing totally and i just have some bare wires dangling under the car...
Does anyone do a replacement for the cable as well as the sensor, my local motorfactors seem to have a spare sensor for about £6, but i have no way to connect the hanging wire to the plug on the back of it!!!
HELP?
Thanks in advance...
Oz.

There are two different threads for the oil sender. The two parts have different part numbers too, in fcat there may be more than 2 parts as they are dependant on the temp guage you have too! I fond this out to my detriment when I got one for Meg off Fleur (oil everywhere!) only to find it was different... even though they are both MPi. The part number is on the 'nut' part of the sender. Also my factors said the part was about £20.. so if you can get them for £6 let me know where from! LOL
Good luck. Adam

That would normally work but from what I can tell it was pot luck which oil filter housing you got, and therefore which sender unit that fits... Parts bin strikes again!

How boring would it be if things were all dependable!
