Midge is in getting her Emerald ECU fitted, and being fully Rolling Road Tuned over 2 days! (including hot and cold starts)...
Will post back results when i get the car back!
(sorry for not posting much recently, my Son was born on 23rd Jan, and i have spend last 3 weeks working manically on the house we are building as it was meant to be done before my son was born so we had enough space!)

3rd place?

i think its lower than that already! lol, the MG is my Wifes, i use it to commute in, my silly car is my Lotus which is currently getting a Jag 4.0l V8 transplanted! (350bhp, 900kgs)!

The house is the priority now! Just want to get the MG running nicely, so its returning 40ish mpg, and up about 140-150bhp :) will do us nicely! then at least i can get out on some airfield days in the MG whilst the lotus is still work in progress!

Ok help...

Emerald are now saying that their ECU wont work on an Auto (after i consulted them before i bought the bloody thing...)
Is anyone running an emerald with an auto? does the MGF MK2 have a TCU, or is the gearbox controlled by the ECU its-self.
Anyone got any ideas? Garage seem to be being a bit useless, and Emerald are suddenly not interested.
Not Happy having spent £1200 on the head work and cams, £500 on the emerald, and seemingly may have to return the head & cams to stock & sell the emerald just to get the car working properly.

I can't see why it shouldn't

after all its engine management an not gearbox, the only real setup after installing the config file should be the throttle sensor

Unless the gearbox takes its signals for changing gear from the ECU rather than speed related

In which case could you not leave the standard ECU in to control the gearbox and piggy the Emerald for the engine, I'm not sure if splitting wires to both ECU would work but as it would only be sensors it may still work

i would suggest giving Quicksilver a pm. He's a font of useful knowledge regarding tuning and auto gearboxes.

Thanks to Eurospec and Chris (Quicksilver) and lots of head scratching with Emerald the car is now running using the Emerald ECU to control the fueling/ignition, and the MEMS3 unit to run the rest of the car...

The only odditiy is that the cooling fans no longer kick in (although run fine when connected to 12v DC...)

Any ideas what we should be checking?

Any help appreciated! cheers!

Car is fully mapped and running now though!
