Idling
Hi everyone,
Since getting the car I have had a very slightly annoying problem whereas when coming to a halt the revs rise and fall between 600 and 1200 revs. This goes on for about 15 seconds then settles and stays constant at 800 revs, any ideas.
Regards Neil

Possibly a vacuum leak?
I would try giving the vacuum hoses a wiggle while the engine is idling to see if the problem occurs.

If its not a hose, try the stepper motor
First just reset it, switch ignition to position II as soon as you do that press the accelerator pedal fully and release 5 times as quick as poss, can't remember how long you have but say within 5 seconds, switch ignition off and then start the engine
Someone will tell you the exact time I'm sure but based on the above it worked on mine
If it still plays up it may be sticking and you need to strip an clean the stepper its not a big job
Here's the "How to" for it

Hope it help

If you try all that and no luck there is also a very thin vacuum hose made of plastic that runs across the rear of the engine bay from the ECU to the inlet manifold drivers side. It rubs on the oil filler neck support bracket and other places and wears a hole in itself! It controls mixture I think as Meg guzzled fuel and ran fast when it was 'holed' - bit of shrink wrap tubing and a hairdryer fixes it if you cant get a replacement tube!

Thanks everyone,
I did the depression of the accelerator as I have just changed the throttle body and fitted a K+N filter but I had the problems prior.I will try all of the above and thanks for the "how to"
