Hi all,
Just been told this service all 4 disks are lipped, best complete set of disks/pads?
Any recommendations?
Car is 130bhp at wheels, and an auto...
Thinking a £65 kit off eBay should be fine...
Cheers!

This would be a good time to ask what the deal is with the rear brake upgrade!

Oz, they'll do you fine! :yesnod:

Ned,
Brakes being fitted in the next couple of weeks. Provided McGard send me a new key for the locknuts.

Apparently they don't recognise the number code supplied with the lock nuts. :pinch: Latest is I've had to send them a photo of the lock nuts. :-?

Are there any upgrade options though? Don't want to spend £60-80 quid now only to upgrade them later again... Rather sort them in 1 go as they need replacing anyway...

Cheers.

Apart from trying grooved discs or more aggressive pads, the only thing you can do, at present, is to upgrade to Ap fronts but that means new wheels.

Within the near future there will be an upgrade available to 285mm discs and better callipers. I am testing the system for the firm and they are supposed to be fitted as I explained above. You're talking £600 quid for all 4 corners.

well budget really is 400-500 for well sorted brakes... dont know if they want a 2nd test car that is lightly tuned and will do some track days/air field days?
prepared to pay £400 for a pre-production kit...

oh and why cant they get the 304mm disks/ calipers under 15" wheels?

Lotusbits do a 6 pot caliper and 310mm discs for the Excel that fit under the stock 15" wheel!!!!
They are epic... :)
