I've no idea if that's possible. Maybe send a pm to 'Shaf' on .org, he's the guy that fits them for a living. It may well help the handling having another tank in the wheel well, but it's heavy enough and economical enough already I reckon .adamelphick wrote: Fingers crossed you get your new baby. I would seriously consider a wheel well tank in front though - as the extra weight helps handling considerably.
Have to say I have always thought about altering the petrol tank set up to have half size petrol tank and a gas tank in the same space - wonder if that's possible?
I passed my advanced police driving course in 1988 and I've only been involved in around 3000 traffic accidents since then  . Only a couple of those included my own vehicle and the only one I pleaded guilty to was putting a police dog van upside down in a river in Yorkshire when I was a dog handler (now that was scary as I couldn't get the seatbelt off). The dogs didn't mind the swim though . Still, in my defence, it was pre ABS and there was 6 inches of snow on the ground causing the car to slide down an embankment at 5 mph.. I'm sure I'll be ok in a little drop top fun car. Performance cars are ten a penny .
Now, one more nightshift and it's sunshine time . Tara a bit.. No 'filth jokes' puhlease. Well, no old ones at least .

Now there's a thought - barby built onto a boot rack! :woohoo:

Well, I'm sure nobody ever realises they were going so fast .rog1963 wrote: Policeman you say? There was mention of 90mph in the 'speedometer inaccuracy' thread .... That was obviously a typo :silly:
Oh Gawd.. all the BBQ jokes already. What a gas .
Didn't realise that I couldn't use the chunnel though . Still, the ferry is a bit cheaper, and a bit slower.

First impressions are that it was presented immaculately and the bloody nice chap I bought it off even put an mot on it and filled the tank :broon: . If nothing drops off in the near future I'll be happy to say it was a steal for the price I paid. (£2100 if you must know). I drove 50 miles home down the motorway with the wind going through where my hair used to be  and it was awesome fun at nowhere near 90 mph of course Rog .
Didn't really notice the reported 10% power loss on lpg. It starts off in petrol mode then flicks over to gas. Alternatively, you can flick it back and forth yourself. I'll take some pics of the little lpg gauge when my youngest girl gets home from NY with my camera (thieving git ) . The car is a lot faster than I expected and Sports mode is a real blast. I had some great fun with the 6 speed gearbox with both the gearstick and flappy paddles. It's definately my brand of marmite . Very happy to be an MGTF owner.

If you've not had a CVT before there is one absolute must...Change the oil in the gearbox regularly, keep it topped up, and use the correct oil!
Only use Esso (now 'Mobil' branded) EZL 799. Under no circumstances use ordinary auto box fluid even if your garage says so...it's not! Loads of info on this on '.org'
It can be tricky to find from MGRover/Xpart and it has been suggested that the unipart stuff is not good enough but I can't comment on that. Genuine EZL 799 can be got from BMW MINI dealers either by the litre (in your own can but expensive!!) or online in bulk, ie 20 litre drum delivered to your door. BM Mini Parts were the cheapest a while back at £7 ish/litre. BMW part no is 83220429154 (20 litres)
Good Luck, and enjoy!

Posted 13 years 4 months ago #25916I tried to work out how many miles I'd have to do to recoup the £2100 I paid for the car but it's beyond my mathematical genius (I'll have to wait for one of the kids to get home) . Of course I'm not taking into account all the gearboxes and tyres I'll go through by then.
