When changing the standard MGTF backbox to another make with a better tone, is it necessary to change the other exhaust pipes on the car or can the existing pipes be used with the new backbox??:dunno:

The new backbox will fit the flange on the end of the cat.General Lee;2691 wrote: Hi,

Whether you can get the old box off the cat is another matter!
An Angle grinder is your friend in this case.

The XPower exhaust sounds fantastic in the flesh and looks gorgeous - the only thing I would say is that the finishers are on the large side as in they're beefy - now personally I like that as it gives a "mean" look but I don't know if you'd want something more subtle. :dunno:
Some of the most renowned exhausts for the F/TF are the Blueflame, Daytona, TT, Scorpion, and X-Power of course!
I bought a second hand Janspeed Sports Exhaust off ebay as most of the time all they need is a good polish & they're as new again & helps save on cost. Here's a before/after of mine:

Just a thought.

General Lee;2825 wrote: Maybe it is a silly question but what did you use to clean it?
Not a silly question - there are loads of different metal polishes! I used this: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_176475_langId_-1_categoryId_165527 ...and it was fantastic! But I warn you polishing is highly addictive... once you see the results you start using it on chrome tie backs, door handles and anything else you can get your hands on! It's a small tube but lasts a long time.
