hi
as you may know we have been working on these cars for a number of years, why I dont know but I guess i like them.any way we are not being involed in any lotus race cars as from the end of this year, they take up too much time and its a love job for customers rather then a profit. And we are going to start building more restored mgfs.
But we have a crashed le 500 in our yard that been with us for a year, and its mostly there, and we have a crashed lotus with a race tuned k series 225 bhp engine with a high rev limit.
I own two mgf and driven many a mile, some of them fast, but th only tfs ive driven have been customers cars and we treat them as you would expect. So dispite years woking on these cars,a tf at speed is just what I have heard.
If we fitted a 225 bhp engine into a mgf it would be almost undriveable,we have tried it a number of times.
Know those of you who own tfs and enjoy driving them as a sports car.do you think if you had 30% more power the car would be controllable.
I dont think the mgtf would handle the power,my son who is deperate to fit the engine recons no problem,I dont want to get involed in messing around with suspension, brakes etc.
Its 0 to 60 is around 6 seconds on a mgf,and it is a dangerous car with that power . a race lotus fully race prepared is around 4.8 seconds but she is lighter.

Mmm le500 parts, drool
Seriously though not a chance without messing around with the suspension and brakes etc.
or you could have your right foot lightened
