After my last post I tried to figure out what it would cost me for shipping by air.
It turns out it's....LOTS!
Does anyone know what a K-series weighs?
Sea freight would be cheaper and slower (not a problem) and would most likely charge by volume...so...
I'm guessing it would be about .5 cubic metres in volume.
Maybe 1.0 Cu/M if I got a pair of subframes as well.
Of course I would need an intake manifold as well, an ECU and maybe an engine harness
which wouldn't add to the cost of shipping but would add to the parts cost.
sigh*
Daz has this pic on his site just to tease me!

we where buying around 2 cars a week for around 2 years.
The dream is to simply start building these cars again and turn them out like new cars,be around the 10k mark.fresh coat of paint, new leather ,new service items,a car as good as new.we do sell around 1 car a month for 6k but they dont have fresh paint.
we have a very large stock of engines and we are going to rebuild some, and we can make 160 engines using new componants. The long term plan is to simple store more and more parts and more and more scrap cars.in around 5 years time many of th mgf/tf scrap yards will have run out of cars.we are starting to find companies who can make new subframes and trim panels.
we also want to keep these cars on the road,so having a factory that builds, supplies, repairs and services these cars will keep them on the road.We know that we hold the largest stock of mgf/tfs.we have invested a lot of money into this long term project.
we will soon have 2 demo cars for people to look at and test drive, and next year we are taking orders for our new cars.MG is a british car and its a sports car.Good knows what that new mg is.its not a sports car.Cant trust the chinese to make a decent take away not alone a car.
The plan is to start building a british car,on british soil. The rate the breakers are breaking these cars they will be non left, and insurance compaines dont help either, write a car off because of a minor dent.most of our cars are for rebuilding, some just a few will be broken up.

we have 3 le 500 cars complete.
we have around 10 le 500 bumpers and 4 brand new ones.
we have 5 rear bumpers but reversing sensors missing.
we have 25 160 in stock complete cars.
we have two shipping containers full of parts.
next step is to find a unit in dorset, put selving up,log and store the parts and then transport good knows how many cars from surrey to dorset,
if any one needs any parts let me know.now would be a good time to buy while we are still sorting things out

Hey I'm the fastest from the lights already! Due to not having to change gear in my steppy. Just ask anyone in Birmingham. Anyone!dazlightyear wrote: so if you want to be the fastest from the lights and be able to get wheel spin in second gear you can
Well, at least up to 25mph anyway.

Its good to know you have a good stock of spares! I don't know what others think, but I'd be interested to see some sample suggestions for repairs and upgrades on your website. I think most people have a budget to work to so would find it useful to see ideas at different price ranges. A sort of "Menu" of jobs eg:
For £500 we could do...
For £1000 we could do...
1500
2000
What do you think?
