I don't have the weight to hand but would estimate around 20kg.
I think your shipping cost will be dictated by the volume of the box protecting the hardtop and not the weight.
The Box will need to be about 1.4 x 1.4 x 0.5m this gives you a volume of 0.98m3
So I would get shipping cost for a 1m3 (include the weight of the wooden box say 20 ~ 25 kg) 45kg weight and you won't be too far wrong.
Hope that helps

It is 18Kg ~ someone on .org deducted the kerb weight, with and without HT and got 18Kg ~ someone else weighted one and said "its about 20Kg"
Paul is quite right, you have got to think about the box too.

This will be one well travelled top, England to Japan, back through the Panama Canal to Newfoundland then back across North America to the West Coast. I'm hoping to have it in time to store it away for the summer! :pinch:
Back to the original question....Rimmers offered to airfreight a new hardtop to me for 500.GBP which is pretty reasonable considering it's bulk. I'm not sure what the freight from Newfoundland will be but I will post on the T-Bar when I get it.
Regardless this transaction is proving to be a lot easier than my efforts to buy what was the only MGF hardtop in North America from a fellow in Minnesota last year. After four months of stalling he still hadn't finished packing it so I called off the sale.
