New tyres and the MGF center
Part 1
Knowing that the Good Year Eagle F1 GSD2's are being produced in 'batches' and being told that the GSD3's were not recommended I decided to buy a set while I could. Now I had the good fortune to buy 4 Twist Of Pepper wheels and a rear GDS2 for a very good price so I only needed to buy 2 front and 1 rear.
I wanted a spare to replace the God awful inflation kit that came with my TF 85 so I also needed a spare wheel retaining screw. The MGF center said they could get the tyres and screw so being local to them I placed my order about 4 weeks ago.
Every thing arrived with in a couple of days, well every thing apart from myself, who for one reason or another could not get to the MGF center until today
Under here.........
.....needed this space filling!
I set off at 08:20, in the flipping rain, and had a fairly clear run to the center. I arrived about two minutes before they opened
I had left the hounds with something to do.
Despite the rain and wind I made it in good time.

Part 2
The MGF center is an Aladdin's cave of yummie bits for our cars. It is well worth a visit (even through Hurricane force winds and Monsooooooooooon rain like what I did this morning) just to have a drool. The two lads who were working this morning were putting a new interior into a customers car, the lucky man!
Here are a few photo's of some of the very nice bits they have.......

Part 3
They do these Scorpion exhausts in twin and quad pipes
I sat down and had a rather nice mug of coffee and read a few articles from one of the many MG magazines that were under the table, while my tyre was fitted. I had decided to have a front passenger side has a spare.
The technician (posh word for mechanic) did not think that the wheel retaining screw would be long enough to hold my spare in place. They come in two sizes one with a green top the other with an orange. however I had an idea, this could be a TOP TIP even!!!!!
Use a nut and cut a piece of threaded bar (same has the retaining screw, join the threaded bar to the retaining screw with the nut and there you go, problem solved
We did this and then found out that the original was long enough any way, 2nd TOP TIP, check before you alter it. So we took the extension off
My wheel awaits it's rubber............
....and was whisked away to the service bays.
Once married the happy couple spent their honeymoon here...........
Now the only thing I had to do (apart from parting with a very big wad of cash) was to fit two tyres into my car. They, in fact not even one would fit in the boot (although a tyre less wheel does) so in the end I sat them side by side on my front seat and held them in place with the seat belt.
Simples!
So that was my few hours at the MGF center, OK it was only a trip to a nice garage and I have done a 3 post write up but Geeeee, I don't get out much...............

Talking of mgf centre. Is their website down or is it my computer? I've been trying for a few days now and keep getting some bandwidth message.

I think it is down at the moment I looked last night and this morning and it said the server was full or some thing like that.
