There are only two like this which have been fitted with Hoyle front and rear independant suspension and a Honda S2000 engine and gearbox.
This one came from America 15 years ago and the total restoration has just been finished. this one is worth around £30,000 but the owner will never sell it.

In this photograph you see MG Chief Engineer Syd Enever and MG General Manager John Thornley, posing with an early MGA outside the Abingdon factory at a press event to introduce the car.
Here a couple of adverts for the car from the time
The MGA was a transitional vehicle taking MG from the pre-war engineering and styling of the T series and the 'modern' styling of the B series.
The MGA did not have many of the refinements of the B, including windows, starter solenoid, door handles and metal floorboards. However it still represented a great leap forward in MG sports car design and does as you said 'make you drool'.

Wire wheels are fab but boy do they take some keeping clean!!!!
Just washing them does not work, you have to rub every inch of them, I used to do mine twice a week. I had chromed ones on my MGB's and MGC's. They looked great
