Fast Jan;4096 wrote: Sadly it would be a waste of time asking for a payrise as I work for the fire service and they've spent all their budget putting dual language signage on the wrong side of appliances and are now paying even more money to have the English/Welsh signs swapped over :skeptical: :shake:

Just done an elevator course.

The well known lift manufacturer was explaining how they can do custom installations and got on to how they were asked to change the floor level visual and aural announcers to announce in English and Welsh. After a lot of money was poured into the project, they realised how long the announcement was, so they went back to just English.

There's progress for you, isn't it.

Thanks guys :)

Don't get me started on the dual signage and announcements thing :rolleyes2:

If it was up to me, the current compulsory Welsh GCSEs would be scrapped so those who choose not to take it can spend the time studying a language which may actually be of some use to them in the future :soapbox:
