Strange thing happened though... brought the new window stop from the local MG repairers a few weeks ago, finally got around to trying to fit it today.
Took the door panels off, and found that the window stop which I fully expected to be broken, to be completely intact...
The thing that the window stop was supposed to go up against however, was nowhere to be seen.. Have now put a nut and in bolt in it's place and tested it and found all to be fine... Anyone else experienced this?

That does sound a bit random! Perhaps a botched DIY job from a previous owner?
