I got to spend some time in Esso's Higher Olifin's plant, where they made the base stock for Mobil 1, and the rest of the Lube Plant's lubricants. It was fun working at one of the few completely integrated refineries in the world, and the oldest.

I hadnt heard rhat, the B series engine flat tappets have been a source of concern personally I choose to use an oil with enough ZDDP content so that whatever the details may be, I wont have a problem.
