Was just going to recommend that thread as a starting point.

The last time I checked the opinions were split 54% No to adding a rear spoiler and 46% Yes. So this is one which really splits the F'ers.

...plus that one only works with a TF boot lid.

That's another alternative too. ie fitting a TF boot lid. It incorporates a subtle spoiler.

Nellee,
i have a spoiler, like MowOg's in the thread from SoftlySoftly'. a subtle curved spoiler. Fixes on either end.
I have changed my mind about fitting it. It comes with the two special little template rings you put in the hole in the boot. They have a hole in the middle so you drill up from the inside and get he holes in the perfect position. SO no marking up and measuring necessary.

It is not painted, in primer I think,, not a lot of prep required, a quick sand and primer coats and should be ready to paint I'm just looking to cover my cost to Forum members, 50 quid. Will put on Ebay for a bit more maybe.

PM me if you'd like to chat about it, i can send you a photo or two. I should be coming up to Durham area in the next couple of weeks I could bring it with me to save postage for you.

Cheers
Gary

I ummed and ahhed and as my Mother used to say "if in doubt do nowt" !

Gaz Sutton has a solar red tf and his boot spoiler looks fab, if I ever decided to have one it would be a TF boot :pinch:

I think on some cars the spoilers look great on others, especially on the bolder colours they can look like as Tui said overkill, or at worst date the car, but not in a good way ..

It's all personal preference

I, have spoilers on the back of both my cars, Dusty the wedgewood comes as a standard spoiler supplied with the car
and Tiny the old English white has a Trophy spoiler,
personally i think they make the rear end look a little sportier but that is just my opinion
as for extra tail end grip i cant really comment as i havent driven one without a spoiler on
cheers

As David and Joe do, I have the Trophy spoiler (and splitter) on Penelope too.

As I said in Jan's thread, they came with the car and, whilst I wouldn't necessarily opt to have them, I do like them and think they suit the car well. I would say that a splitter adds more performance-wise than a spoiler.

If I had the choice, I would replace the F boot lid with a TF boot lid with integrated spoiler:

Which I think looks better than the bolt-on addition:
