Wheel Refurb tomorrow - colour? was created by a Guest

Hi all,

I've been ill so no posts recently (ish!).

The "Bat's" still holed up in the garage and because of illness I haven't been able to do very much to her.

I have managed to change the battery & replace a dodgy earth strap.

I've had the tyres chaned fron & back and I'm about to have my "11 spokes"
refurbed.

At the moment I think I'll stick with silver but was considering, black, gunmetal grey or orange!

The "bat's" BRG with BRG Heritage hard top, (don't talk to me about bloody hard tops at the moment, GRRRRR!), black soft top & eventually a nice cream leather interior.

I'm probably going to either "chrome" or silver finnish the vents in due course & she's currently "saddled" with a chrome & wood luggage rack on the boot.

Any other ideas or should I stick with silver?

HAPPY CHRISTMAS evereybody, (including Clive :))

My personal preference is for silver wheels, but I know others(hem-hem) have other ideas. see here:- http://the-t-bar.org/showthread.php?t=512&highlight=wheels

I think Clive & Kara's wheels look great, (sssssh! don't tell Clive) - I just don't think they go with BRG! - Pure gold just might - but still a bit too flash for me!!

If you want the original look then silver sparkle is probably best.

I have some silver hamerrite and a paintbrush if you want a hand :) Seriously though, if you do want a hand with anything just give me a shout.

Why cn't I have a happy christmas? :frown: Santa won't visit you if you're not nice. :shake:

Just reread that. I was sure it said "excluding" when I first read it. :dunno:

Are you up for this Batty?

Thanks very much Clive - hammerite sounds a great idea - you go first LOL. How can you possibly want a present from a guy who crawls down chimneys to "leave something" for little boys & girls? I can see however that this might fit in with your "stalker" mentality! Joking apart, (hammerite I mean), thank you very much for your kind offer, your more than welcome to come over & meet my 4 English Springer Spaniels, 1 Sprocker, 1 Westie, my wheelchair bound sister-in-law, my daughter & her 3 kids & Oh yes - my Dublin Irish wife whenever you want. As you can guess Clive, I live in a state of permanent confusion, (doesn't everybody?) - happy birthday mate!!

Clive - I'd love to support the Beamish run but unfortunately I'm in hospital on the Friday and it normally takes me a couple of days to recover, (i.e. I feel like sh_t!). I'll have to give this one a miss. Gos, what the hell is the "Shadow Chrome" colour your referring to -any piccy's mate?

No probs mate. I'll bring you a 1/4 of old fashioned boiled sweets. :)

Shadow chrome is a darker silver/chrome. Still silver and shiney, just a little darker.

shadow chrome is a more subtle silver wheel, not sparkly, not shiny exactly, very difficult to explain, even more difficult to find a pic but I will keep trying.

oddly I had one on my tf but didnt realise until I first cleaned it that it was different to the other three :dunno: I loved it but could only afford one new wheel not three :dunno:

I will keep looking for a pic.

edit; found one (not very good tho, from phone) front is shadow rear is sparkle, not very clear in this pic I'm afraid.

Thanks Gos - much appreciated! Clive I'm getting my wheels done by Graham Robson who has the local "ChipsAway" franchise up here in Ashington. I've used him for acouple of years now. He's already done some work on the MGF and has previously done work on my "Disco" and my old Jag XK8, (the latter, sadly no longer with me!). He's a really nice guy- knows his business and doesn't rip people off. I can't fault his work and would reccommend his work. He'll either come to you or he has a unit in the newish units down by McDonalds
