Fuel Filter

I brought a service kit for the MGTF, and still have a fuel filter and spark plugs to fit. Looking at the fuel filter it is looking a bit of a worry to change, It look like there is going to be petrol squirting from all angles when I start playing with it! (glad I quit smoking!). I have done a serch and cant find any How To ... Is there one?

Last other jobs - Dashboard bulbs, Spark plugs and paint door handles, and finally chrome ring on filler cap. I have read the polish bit, and I am not paying the £50 on ebay! so I think a can of spray seems a quick fix?

So its that simple? I thought by unsrewing a pipe all the petrol will come flooding out, and looking for some kind of isolation valve! I guess that's what a fuel pump is for then!
