What symbol is on the lamp?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Thats the engine management light. You need a code reader to check it out.

I got a cheap OBD2 one from ebay and cleared my fault with my phone.

Check these out:

A garage will charge you £40 for this to be done.

I'd recommend getting one :)

If it wasnt on before the garage had the car i would bat it back to them. Sounds like they have done something.

For anyone with a My2000 on a car that is OBD2 compliant then this reader is a very cheap tool. :yesnod:

Ebay OBD2 Readers link.

They come with a booklet with a comprehensive list of codes.

It plugs into this port here within the fusebox compartment under the steering wheel.

As you haven't set your location so you appear to be in Ohio!

Where abouts are you?

I will happly plug my scanner in for you and read the code.

However it may disappear anyway. Sometimes if the ECU doesn't detect a fault over a number of ignition events it will clear the light, this happened yesterday on my wifes ZR after some brake work.

On our F the EPAS light come on after the emissions test on the MOT but clears once you drive properly.

If you've got an Android phone you could buy a bluetooth Elm 327 adapter and download an application called Torque instead search for elm327 on the T Bar for an earlier thread by me.
