Well we can set the trend ;)

Body kits do not have to mean Chavtastic, and after ours are done, we will have proved that point :yesnod:

waits for the boys to come and dispute that :P

Exactly, when done with care and attention, many body kits can enhance the look of a car.

It's not something I'd necessarily do, but I do like the results and can appreciate the effort.

As to why its not as popular, since many kits now cost multiple times the value of the car (which is under valued and underrated in all our opinions here), I guess the general though is its not worth it. Shame though as there are some fine cars out there.

I think the lack of popularity with body kits is simply that cars look far better now than they did in the past.

It is actually very hard to fit more than the odd little subtle additions before you spoil the looks of the car.

The F / TF is a very good looking, well balanced car and the majority of kits simply make the car look bloated and overweight.

the other reason being Paul that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The guy at Motobuild was saying that the kits dont appeal to everyone and not even everyone that is looking for a kit, we all look at something with a different eye. I look at some thinking Id like that but a bit more curvy where as someone might look and think Id like that a bit squarer. So its not worth there while to develop them anymore. Also Mike Satur mentioned that the companys that actually make the parts are very volatile and he has lost prototypes with companys going bust. Similar to Clives disappearing bonnet... I think that will appear one day, I only hope its not someone we know who has it :(

I suppose it can be very dis heartening.

The fitting of kits will always be a contentious subject, but like Tracy I think it is sad that there is not more development in them, as personally I would like one that is the same as the one I have just bought, but slimmer and closer fitting, however with it being fiber glass the option of sanding it down is not there :(

Re Clives bonnet, I have my own opinions on that and where it is, only time will tell

With 3d printing said to be the next big thing, it can't be too long before you can have your own unique body kit that you have designed.
